Introduction

Welcome to my web notebook. I am a fan of open source technology, which is where the notebook gets its name from. Most of what is written here is for my own use, so that something I have already worked out once I do not have to work out again — but if a note is useful to somebody else, so much the better.

Everything is now in English, and every document that was written in Slovak keeps its original beside it: look for the link (SK) entry in a listing.

What changed

This notebook ran for years on a small PHP CMS of my own that rendered markdown with Parsedown. It now runs on php-terminal-cms, which is built on a different idea: a document is not a blob of text but an ordered sequence of typed lines, and the same handful of operations moves, retypes and deletes every kind of them.

The archive — the plain-text HOWTOs and cheat sheets that had been sitting

The (old material since 2007) is kept as it was written: the banners, the box diagrams and the terminal transcripts are carried through character for character, because that is what they are evidence of.

Note: some of the content is very old and some of the links will probably don't work. My apologies for that.
